The challenges :

  • Data centralization for B2B needs :
    Their central PIM was designed for B2C data and lacked critical B2B-specific capabilities, such as managing ETIM data required for B2B markets.
    They required a solution to centralize and manage this specialized data effectively.
  • Handling diverse market-specific requests:
    Different countries and markets had unique and evolving data requirements.

    Their PIM could not export data in formats required for B2B customers, such as BMECat, FAB-DIS, and custom Excel matrices. They faced difficulties in producing these formats efficiently.

“I work in the international B2B team. I manage data responsibilities in what we call the modern markets, which is mostly Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Korea and South Africa.

 

My main responsibilities are to provide and collect up our company data and try to provide it to all of our account managers.

 

This ensures we have all the necessary data ready when our customers request it.

We have more and more questions these days about different sorts of information, like CO2 emissions and certificates.

 

I think it’s going to be continuously evolving because there will always be extra questions.

Because we work with different markets, some countries have different requests than others that are more specific to just that country.

Limitations of a B2C-focused PIM for B2B needs

We have a central PIM where we centralize a lot of data such as marketing texts, product features and others ; everything that’s in is more based towards B2C rather than B2B.

 

As we needed things such as the ETIM data for the B2B markets and that this isn’t something that we have in our PIM, we had to start trying to look elsewhere to find ways of getting this data centralized. 

 

Moreover, we needed to be able to export the data in certain specific formats, such as a BMECat or FAB-DIS, plus various custom Excel matrixes and assets.

 

That was something that we couldn’t really do with our PIM, so I had to go and search elsewhere to find another company that might help us out.”

“I already had all my data in an Excel file.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that I could really simply import my file and get the data.

And even if I had a different format, like moved and renamed columns, I could still use my previous mapping to quickly import my data.

 

As Daiteo is an online tool, we didn’t have to download any software.

We just go into the online tool, log in and work straight away. 


The implementation has been great because whenever I’ve needed some help, I can just email my account manager or put in a video call with him.”

Advanced features for daily uses

“Adding assets is really easy. 

 

I can select 200 products and then add it to all of them at once. 

It’s much easier than previously so that’s a really good feature.

Some of our customers ask to specifically name the images, with the GTIN and then the customer code for example.

When I export assets on Daiteo, I can rename or resize them automatically

 

Again, just the exporting, and the fact that I can just select the products and then click BMECat and have directly the file is perfect.


We also have a specific file from one of our customers that we manage on Daiteo.

When it is exported with products, the file keeps exactly the same format, tabs, formulas and visual aspect. It’s exactly the same, but with data, which is fantastic.

There are many functionalities I’m still discovering, and every time it gives me the feeling Daiteo is going above my expectations.

“The BMECat is one of our most important project with Daiteo. It is the main format that we’ve been using for a lot of customers.


Previously, in the other system, it was taking time because I had to go through certain steps before I could download it, change things and make sure that everything was correct. 


Whereas with Daiteo, I can just go in and adapt my BMECat for a specific demand with a dedicated interface.

Once I got it all set up, I just have to select the products my colleagues needs, choose the language, export and it’s done within minutes.

I think it’s making us look really good because we can send stuff back pretty quickly, and all the data customers require is pretty much there.
